Every March brings with it a flurry of activity. As winter reluctantly gives way to spring, the vineyards are pruned in preparation and a keen eye is kept for the first signs of bud break. Preparations are made for the first rounds of bottling, and the blossoming crocuses are celebrated. The past few years, March brings another greatly anticipated event, the annual EPIC Wineries March Mac'Ness.

This year March Mac'Ness took place on March 3 and 4. Both Saturday and Sunday sold out, and participants were able to sample eleven version of macaroni and cheese from the eleven participating wineries, each paired with a small pour of wine.

Steve Meehan, Bistro 42 Executive Chef, and his culinary team put together a mac and cheese spring roll with an aged cheddar dipping sauce, paired with North 42 Degrees Estate Winery's 2016 Pinot Noir and with the 2013 dry Riesling.

Just over 600 people came through on their March Mac'Ness tasting adventure! We enjoyed spending time with each and every one of our guests, and we were honoured to be selected as the 2018 People's Choice winner for the best mac and cheese creation.
