GEWURZTRAMINER, 2023 VQA
$24.95 – $299.40
Rosewater, lychee and spice jump from the glass in this expressive Gewürztraminer. Full-bodied, this pleasantly dry wine is not shy about its flavours: lychee fruit, spice, rose and a hint of pink grapefruit finishes off this well-balanced wine. Pairing: excellent for Indian food, Pad Thai, and foods that are treated to mild Asian spice. Also nice with soft cheeses.
Description
Dry and Alsatian in style with a powerful backbone. This estate grown Gewurztraminer is very expressive with aromas of lychee and spice which replay on the palate, a great round mouthfeel that leads to a clean finish. Lower in acid than most other varietals, it sits nicely on the tongue. It’s a suprisingly rare grape that deserves to be tried. While complex and aromatic, when paired with spicy aromatic food it will knock your socks off. It’s a terrific wine with vegetarian dishes especially roasted vegetables and artichokes. And it’s the perfect companion to Indian and Middle Eastern food and spicy Chinese dishes, creamy cheeses and of course pork.
A very limited number of cases left of this one!
