CABERNET FRANC RESERVE, 2018 VQA

Description

Cabernet Franc deserves far more attention than it gets, especially our 2018 Reserve.   Not only does this grape create wines of exceptional character, but it matches beautifully with comfort food. It has huge flavour and aromas without being over the top.   And it has great bones and tannins which it makes it a lovely wine to age. For this reason it is our owner Suzanne’s favourite red wine.

North 42 Degrees’ 2018 Cabernet Franc Reserve was handpicked and is barrel aged for 24 months in ned French barrels.  It’s gemstone ruby colour glistens and leads the way to a delightful wine that is tart and juicy all at the same time.  The flavours of ripe crushed raspberries are at its core.  These are accented by dark chocolate, sweet spices and flashes of smoky notes and cedar which linger on the palate. Well-balanced with velvety tannins and a long finish.  This stylish and vibrant Cabernet Franc is a great wine to share with friends.  Drinking nicely now or ageable.
