Description
Cabernet Sauvignon is found worldwide, including our vineyard, in Lake Erie North Shore – in no small part due to its prized combination of black fruit aromas, structural tannins, and fresh acidity. Surprisingly, it’s parents are the lighter bodied Cabernet franc and the beautiful crisp and citrusy Sauvignon blanc.
Our 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve was hand picked on sunny but brisk November morning. It is full bodied and bursting with flavours of juicy blackberries and dark fruits intermingled with a touch of leather. The barrel aging created plush tannins that lead to an elegant and lasting finish.
It pairs well with semi-hard, aged cow’s milk cheeses. The aging process of the cheese brings out a slight crunch and rich, nutty flavours. This milder, nutty texture and smooth taste highlights the berry notes of this wine. Drinking well now.
